A matching bulletin can show what each visit involved.

Anyone can check campaigns on NHTSA's recall lookup. A technical service bulletin is a notice a manufacturer sends its dealers about a known condition, its likely cause and the approved repair.

Cline APC takes lemon law and consumer warranty claims only, for GLC owners and lessees, people who lease, across San Diego County.

Which GLC 300 Shifting and Park Faults Should You Describe to a Lemon Law Attorney?

Describe exactly what the SUV does, because Cline APC matches your words to Mercedes-Benz's documents. NHTSA logged 289 complaints on 2021 to 2026 GLC model years, pulled September 29, 2026. The electrical system leads with 92 and the engine follows with 76. Bulletins describe hard downshifts, a stuck shifter and oil pressure warnings.

Its bulletins, extensions and recall filings describe these conditions on certain GLC models.

  • A harsh 2-to-1 downshift while braking to a stop with ECO start-stop off (LI27.60-P-079969)
  • A shifter that will not leave Park while a red warning shows (LI27.60-P-080167)
  • A red oil pressure warning (LI18.10-P-078867)
  • A check engine light from a possible exhaust valve misfire (the M264 extension)
  • A check engine light from false tank leak codes (the leak detection extension)
  • Headlights that fail or aim too high (22V261000 and 24V070000)

Say you commute from El Cajon to Kearny Mesa. Twice the transmission clunks as you brake to a stop. Both tickets from the Mercedes-Benz dealer on Wagner Drive record an adaptation and a road test, with nothing found. Those tickets read differently once a bulletin describes the same complaint for your model year.

Which GLC Engines and Software Levels Does a Bulletin Name, and Why Does a Lawyer Check?

Because fit decides whether a bulletin helps. GLC bulletins name model years, engines, transmissions and software levels. LI27.60-P-080167, for example, affects only vehicles with the NAG3C 725.0 transmission, the M264 engine and software 19A or 19B, certain GLC 300 models among them.

Say your 2023 GLC 300 in Rancho Penasquitos comes back with a ticket reading standstill adaptation performed per LI. That note may point to LI27.60-P-079969, and a Mercedes-Benz GLC lemon law lawyer will want its number.

Which GLC Warranty Extensions Should a Lemon Law Lawyer Check for Repayment?

In January 2026, Mercedes-Benz extended coverage on the M264 exhaust valve system for certain 2020 to 2023 GLC 300 models. It extended the tank leak detection module in May 2025 and updated that notice in July 2026. California law also requires procedures to repay qualifying repairs you already paid for.

Civil Code section 1795.90, subdivision (d), calls such a program an adjustment program when it extends coverage past its stated limit. It also covers a program that pays for repairs of a condition that may substantially affect durability, reliability or performance. Recall work and case-by-case goodwill fixes fall outside it. The exhaust valve extension moves coverage from 4 years or 50,000 miles to 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. It targets valve wear that could potentially cause a misfire.

Say you bought a 2022 GLC 300 in La Mesa and paid for a cylinder head repair after a misfire in 2025. That bill may now be repayable, depending on the program's terms and your records.

Reimbursement Within Two Years of the Payment Date

Under Civil Code section 1795.92, subdivision (a), Mercedes-Benz must mail eligible owners notice within 90 days of adopting a program. Subdivision (b) sends copies to the New Motor Vehicle Board. Subdivision (e) requires a written claim within two years of the date you paid. The manufacturer then has 21 business days under subdivision (d) to answer, and a denial must give written reasons. An August 2026 owner letter says the tank leak extension applies regardless of ownership, with repairs at an authorized dealer.

Differential Bolts, Engine Carriers and Windows on 2024 GLC Models

NHTSA's recall data, pulled September 29, 2026, shows 26 campaigns across 2021 to 2026 GLC model years, AMG versions included. Campaign 23V741000 covers certain 2024 GLC 300 windows that may not be secured. Its windshield may not properly support the front airbags. Under 24V658000, certain 2024 GLC 300 and AMG GLC 43 engine carriers may fail from improper welds. Campaign 24V862000 covers certain 2024 GLC 300 4MATIC models whose rear differential bolts may loosen, letting the drive shaft separate. NHTSA lists only 3 to 7 vehicles in each.

Steering Coupling Bolts and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Lemon Law Safety Path

Campaign 25V533000 covers certain 2023 to 2026 GLC and EQE models whose steering coupling bolt may be improperly tightened. The coupling can loosen from the rack, with a loss of steering control. A court may treat that as likely to cause death or serious bodily injury. So keep every ticket from before or after this recall. Three campaigns touch GLC headlights, 22V261000, 24V070000 and 25V365000. The firm also handles Mercedes-Benz lemon law claims from La Jolla.

Where Does a Lawyer Find the Bulletin Number on a GLC Repair Order?

Check the correction line, then ask about internal notes. Mercedes-Benz repair documents carry numbers that begin with LI. Campaign notices often begin with NCU or use a ten-digit number. Technicians sometimes write these only in internal notes, so ask the advisor to print the number on your copy.

Under 49 CFR 579.5, manufacturers send NHTSA copies of defect notices and bulletins sent to more than one dealer or owner. That holds whether or not the defect is safety-related. Copies are due within five working days after the end of the month of issue. California's Civil Code section 1795.90, subdivision (g), defines a service bulletin as a notice filed with NHTSA about durability, reliability or performance.

Say an advisor declines to print a bulletin. Note the date, the name and the answer, then search NHTSA yourself.

Five Fields to Compare Between a Bulletin and Your Ticket

A lawyer compares the model, year and engine code first, then the complaint wording, the fault codes, the software level and the remedy steps. LI27.60-P-079969, issued November 5, 2025, called for standstill adaptations and said a long-term software fix was then in development. LI18.10-P-078867 tells technicians to open a TIPS case, an internal escalation to Mercedes-Benz. So ask in writing for software versions and any TIPS number. Under Civil Code section 1795.91, subdivision (b), a dealer holding an adjustment program bulletin must share its main terms when you seek that repair.

Keeping Your Own Log When Mercedes-Benz Updates the GLC Remotely

NHTSA's files, as of September 29, 2026, tag 331 distinct Mercedes-Benz document numbers to 2021 to 2026 GLC model years. Twenty are over-the-air updates. For example, a January 2025 notice says certain 2021 to 2025 models, the GLC among them, get a multimedia update remotely with no dealer visit. An update installed remotely puts no days at a dealer, while days there for repair of a nonconformity can count. So note the date a symptom changes after any update.

Does a Bulletin Prove Your SUV Is a Lemon to a Mercedes-Benz GLC Lemon Law Lawyer?

No, a bulletin alone never proves a lemon. The repurchase duty in Civil Code section 1793.2, subdivision (d)(2), arises only after a reasonable number of repair attempts, meaning enough tries to count under the law, on a nonconformity. Nonconformity means a defect that substantially impairs use, value or safety. Still, a bulletin fills gaps the repair orders leave.

The presumption in section 1793.22, subdivision (b), treats Mercedes-Benz as having had a reasonable number of repair attempts once its conditions are met. Those conditions arise within 18 months or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. Four or more repairs of one nonconformity qualify, and so do two for one likely to cause death or serious bodily injury. Those two repair routes need direct notice, your own written notice to Mercedes-Benz, at least once, when the booklet discloses that duty. A third route counts more than 30 cumulative days out of service for repair, with no notice needed. Mercedes-Benz can rebut it, but the Mercedes-Benz lemon law lawyers at Cline APC can still rely on the full history under section 1793.2, subdivision (d)(2).

Say you keep returning for the downshift after the November 5, 2025 bulletin. Each visit can count as a repair attempt on the same nonconformity.

A Bulletin Dated Before Your Repairs and Willfulness in a GLC Lemon Law Case

Under section 1794, subdivision (c), a willful violation can bring a civil penalty of up to twice actual damages. A bulletin dated before your repairs can show Mercedes-Benz knew of the condition, though its bulletins say they do not indicate that a defect is present. That knowledge may matter when a court asks whether a refusal to repurchase was willful. Section 1795.91, subdivision (a), has dealers tell shoppers how to get bulletins, but the notice is no admission that a defect exists.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Lemon Law Filing Dates When an Extension Covers the Part

The Department of Consumer Affairs dates Mercedes-Benz USA's election into the newer procedures April 30, 2025. Section 871.30 reaches vehicles sold in 2025 or earlier. For one sold new in 2026 or later, section 871.29, subdivision (d), says Mercedes-Benz must name the governing procedure at the sale.

For a vehicle sold in 2025 or earlier, section 871.21 requires suit within one year after the applicable express warranty ends, and never more than six years after delivery. The applicable express warranty is the written one covering the defect. Both limits pause for repair days and for up to 60 days after a pre-suit notice. That section 871.24 notice, a demand needed only before a suit seeking civil penalties, must arrive at least 30 days before filing. Civil penalties stay out only if an offer comes within 30 days of receipt and the repurchase is completed within 60. Days in the California Dispute Settlement Program (CDSP) extend the deadline under section 1793.22, subdivision (c). Whether an extension counts as the applicable warranty is a legal judgment.

On a buyback, meaning restitution, the mileage offset deducts for miles driven before the first repair visit for the defect. A $54,000 GLC first brought in at 7,000 miles would carry a $3,150 offset, and the buyback calculator runs your own figures. If you prevail, Civil Code section 1794, subdivision (d), lets you recover costs and reasonable attorney fees.

Is One Bulletin Number Enough to Start With a Mercedes-Benz GLC Lemon Law Lawyer?

Yes. A free consultation at Cline APC matches the bulletin number on your repair order to your symptoms. A Mercedes-Benz GLC lemon law lawyer also checks for an adjustment program and dates your section 871.21 deadline. You do not need every bulletin in hand before calling.

Bring every repair order, any bulletin printout, owner letters and your contract.

No lawyer can promise how Mercedes-Benz will answer. Owners who also drive a C-Class can ask about keeping it and claiming damages on the same call.

Send the bulletin number and your details online, or call (888) 982-6915 with the bulletin number in front of you.
