Your Silverado lost power on the State Route 67 climb out of Poway, and a flatbed hauled it to a Chevrolet service lane you had never visited. A Chevrolet lemon law attorney in Poway reads that tow receipt as the first entry in a repair record.

General Motors LLC elected into the state's newer lemon law procedure on April 23, 2025. That means it opted in to separate rules for letters and deadlines, and the Department of Consumer Affairs summary of that procedure explains them.

Lemon law and warranty claims are all Cline APC handles. Chevy owners from Ramona, Rancho Bernardo and Scripps Ranch also book appointments at its office, 14280 Danielson Street, Poway, CA 92064. If one defect keeps stranding you, call (858) 373-9337 with the tow receipts handy.

Where Does a Tow From Poway End Up, and Why Does a Chevrolet Attorney Follow It?

Chevrolet's Roadside Assistance tows to the nearest authorized dealer. Its Bumper-to-Bumper coverage also lists towing to the nearest authorized dealership for warranty repairs. No Chevrolet store sits in Poway, so the road where your Chevy quits usually picks Escondido, Santee or La Mesa. Every store's repair order joins one file.

Cline APC's Poway lemon law attorneys know those stores. Quality Chevrolet is at 1550 Auto Park Way North in Escondido. Sedano Chevrolet is at 10335 Mission Gorge Road in Santee, and Bob Stall Chevrolet is at 7601 Alvarado Road in La Mesa. Say your Tahoe stalls near the Via Rancho Parkway exit. The tow likely ends in Escondido. Keep the tow receipt with that order, and ask the dealer to write the arrival date.

Breakdowns Along the State Route 67 Corridor

State Route 67 runs as a two-lane highway past Scripps Poway Parkway. It then becomes a freeway through Santee to Interstate 8 in El Cajon. A failure there points toward Sedano, or toward Bob Stall near Interstate 8. Ask the Santee counter for a written order before the truck moves anywhere else. A State Route 56 tow west of Interstate 15 can land at an unfamiliar store too, so keep both tow receipts.

Which Engine and Rear-Wheel Lockup Recalls Does a Poway Chevrolet Attorney Match to Tow Slips?

Campaign 25V274000 covers the 6.2L V8. Campaigns 24V797000, 26V083000 and 26V085000 cover transmission control valves that can lock the rear wheels. Each describes a failure that can leave an owner on the shoulder. A failure that returns after recall work stays part of the claim.

A recall is not a claim by itself. Still, 26V083000 reached trucks that may have been repaired incorrectly under 24V797000, so that visit marks a second attempt at the same defect. Say you tow a boat up the Ramona grade on a summer afternoon, and the engine fails. Expect GM to raise misuse, which Chevrolet's warranty excludes. So keep the trailer registration and any weight slip. The firm's Chevrolet lemon law lawyers also look up your VIN in NHTSA's recall database.

When the Chevy Will Not Start in Your Driveway

Civil Code section 1793.2, subdivision (c), covers a vehicle the defect keeps you from delivering. Written notice to the manufacturer, or to its nearest California repair facility, then counts as the return. GM must service the vehicle at your home, pick it up or arrange transport. It also bears reasonable transportation costs. Say your Equinox will not crank. Send that notice and keep a copy.

Can a Poway Chevrolet Attorney Still File a Year Past the Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty?

Within limits. When the Chevrolet was sold in 2025 or earlier, suit is allowed under section 871.21 up to one year after the defect's applicable express warranty, its booklet coverage, expires. The outer limit falls six years after delivery. Shop days are added back, and a pre-suit demand letter can add up to 60 days more.

Chevrolet's online warranty termsTerm, whichever comes first
Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty3 years or 36,000 miles
Powertrain Limited WarrantyTypically 5 years or 60,000 miles, with other durations available

Say your 2023 Equinox stalled again after 36,000 miles. If powertrain coverage is the applicable warranty for that stall, the window may still be open. A Chevrolet lemon law attorney in Poway reads the booklet before relying on either term. Section 871.29 makes GM name the governing procedure for each Chevy sold new in 2026 or later. When that choice is the older rules, the four-year period under Commercial Code section 2725 starts by default at tender of delivery. A warranty explicitly covering future performance, where discovery must await it, moves that start to the point the breach is or should have been discovered. Form ADM-254 lists Poway's 92064 under the Central Division.

Under section 871.24, the pre-suit notice is a written demand needed only when a suit will ask for civil penalties. Civil penalties mean an added award for willful violations. The letter goes out 30 or more days before filing, while the Chevy is still yours. From receipt, GM has until day 30 to make an offer and until day 60 to complete it. If GM meets both dates, the penalties drop out, but a missed date leaves them available. Skipping it still allows a suit for restitution, meaning a buyback, just without the penalty.

Thirty-Two Days Across Three Stores on a Bolt EV

Section 1793.22, subdivision (b), holds a presumption, which treats GM as having had a reasonable number of repair attempts, adequate chances to fix a nonconformity. A nonconformity means a defect that substantially impairs value, use or safety. The presumption covers certain patterns within 18 months of delivery or 18,000 odometer miles, whichever occurs first. Two or more repairs are enough when the nonconformity, such as a stall or lockup, is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury. For other nonconformities, four repairs qualify. Both routes need one direct notice to GM if the warranty discloses that duty, while shop stays totaling more than 30 cumulative days need none. The presumption is rebuttable, and the full record can still carry a claim after the window.

Say your Bolt EV loses propulsion on State Route 56 near Carmel Valley. It then waits 18 days for a part, after earlier stays of 5 and 9 days at other stores. That totals 32, past the 30-day route if all three were warranty repairs of nonconformities inside that window. Days count from arrival, and a loaner does not stop the count.

How Does a Poway Chevrolet Attorney Get Tow and Rental Costs Into a GM Buyback?

Restitution returns the price you paid or still owe, with transportation charges and factory options. It adds tax, license and registration fees, plus the towing, repair and rental costs you actually paid. GM may then deduct a use charge, the mileage offset, keyed to the odometer when that defect first went in for repair.

RecordWhat it proves
Tow receiptDate, time and pickup location
Repair orderThe date the dealer received the vehicle and the complaint logged
Rental and rideshare receiptsWhat getting around cost

Say you paid $61,000 for a Tahoe, and the first tow for the engine problem came at 6,200 miles. The offset is about $3,152, and the buyback calculator runs your figures. For a lease, section 1795.4 gives you a buyer's rights, and section 871.27 adds residual and extension rules, so bring the lease payoff statement. GM may require only the Standardized SBA Release set out in section 871.25. It must then complete the agreed buyback or replacement within 30 days of receiving that release signed through counsel, or owe $50 a day unless the parties agree otherwise. A buyer who does not cooperate in good faith loses that daily charge.

Should You Save the Tow Slip and Phone a Chevrolet Lemon Law Attorney in Poway?

Yes, before the flatbed leaves. Cline APC reviews Chevrolet files in a free consultation at 14280 Danielson Street or by phone at (858) 373-9337. It checks whether the days pass 30, whether a failure fits the two-repair route and whether GM's election applies.

Save the tow receipt, photograph the dash and note where it happened. If you bought the Chevy new in 2026, bring any procedure notice from the deal jacket as well.

A Chevrolet lemon law attorney in Poway explains the firm's attorney fee arrangement at that first meeting. No one can promise a result.
